M. Kevin Joe, DDS

M. Kevin Joe, DDS, is a prosthodontist at Seattle Special Care Dentistry. A prosthodontist restores the look, function, comfort, and health of a patient's oral cavity. He was drawn to his specialty while in dental school at UCLA, where he was mentored by Dr. John Beumer III, who wrote what could be considered “the book” on Maxillofacial Prosthodontics. “I was amazed by the prosthetic treatment that he provided for patients with cancer of the mouth and face and the significant improvement of their quality of life that these kinds of restorations provide.”

In addition to his DDS from UCLA, Dr. Joe also holds certifications in Hospital Dentistry, Prosthodontics, and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics.  He is also a Clinical Instructor in Prosthodontics for the Swedish Medical Center General Practice Residency.

Outside of work he enjoys riding his motorcycle, camping with family, skiing, and fly fishing.

He notes a fun tooth fact; “President Grover Cleveland, in July of 1892, had a tumor removed from his palate in a secret surgery on a yacht and had a maxillofacial prosthetic fabricated, all without the public knowing.”
